I wonder: would Max Cleland have done better if Cynthia McKinney and Bob Barr were still on the ballot in their congressional districts? McKinney's constituents nut-case supporters probably stayed home because they were mad that "outside influences" (as her father put it, "J-E-W-S") had done in their gal in the primary. Barr, meanwhile, was always a bigger magnet for the Left than a beloved figure on the Right. Since turnout was such a huge factor in the Georgia races, you have to ask.
