Mitt Romney, running for Massachusetts governor, is in a strange position: he's fighting in his own party primary to get his pick of running mates against an extremely well-financed challenger who has won the GOP nomination for statewide office once before (both Ronmey and Rapaport have run unsuccessful campaigns for the Senate).
