I had the theory that Mike, as a youngster, was denied an autograph by Morgan when Joe was a member of the Wheeze Kid '83 Phillies.

It's true that Morgan says a fair number of silly things, but then again he's an ex-jock, and few jocks or ex-jocks think seriously about the game. I live in North Carolina and thus hear a lot of Braves' games (though I'm a Phillies' fan), and Braves' broadcaster Don Sutton, a VERY bright guy (as most successful starting pitchers are, don't you think?) still thinks BA is a critical stat.
