BASEBALL/WAR: Mr. Met, Patriot
While Michele is busy heaping slanders on Mr. Met (it gets worse), I think it is important to defend the honor of He of the Round Head by raising this important fact, from a 2002 report: He’s serving in the U.S. Army now and has gone from wearing a baseball as a head to keeping the ball rolling at a prison camp for terrorists. Of course, the Al Qaeda and Taliban detainees are sure to confess when he walks into the interrogation room in the Mr. Met head . . . Comments
Mr. Met has suddenly become the John Kerry of the baseball world. Did I mention I'm a veteran?! Maybe whoever wears the head is a nice guy, but I still stand by my assertion that Mr. Met, the mascot, is the dumbest looking mascot ever. Their mascot was called “Roger Dodger” and he was nothing more then an old man with a giant rubber head. We’re talking Mr. Met-sized. The face was so poorly made (it is the single-A California League after all) that it appeared to be deformed like the Elephant Man. I had nightmares for weeks after going to a game and I wasn’t alone. The team received so many complaints from parent that they had to do away with him.
