Crank,

Admittedly I'm splitting hairs here. And in no way do I want to demean the honor of Pat Tillman. I've admired the man ever since he was in college when I first read about him meditating on the tower. One of only two articles in SI that have stuck with me through the years, the other being, believe it or not, the unbelievable story of Syd Finch.

The irony being that one was a figment of the imagination and the other was a real live, honest to god, larger than life individual who didn't even now it, and didn't want to know it.

Anyways, the hair to be split:

The details that "emerge"(d) are a week old. They didn't just "emerge" as you imply. They've been around for a while. This is a miswording and misleading to the article that far-right and far-left publications make a habit of.

By all means I feel it was important that you linked to this piece. And while I was a little peeved, perhaps because I'm still interested in seeing further details, wether they be larger than life or as simple as a stray bullet, ultimately I hope you take this only as a bit of constructive criticism.
