No, I don't know what's up with Mark Steyn, who's left a note up that "[f]or personal and family reasons, this website will be on hiatus for a while." Hopefully, all will be well and he'll be back writing again soon. Hey, the New York Times needs a new conservative . . .

I think he'd be perfect, but there's no way the NYT goes for him (besides that he's alreadt in the Sun). My 2nd choice would be Lileks, but I don't know if they'd go with someone so far out of the NY/DC area. The logical choice would be a "conservative" like Andrew Sullivan, but there's so much bad blood there that I doubt it. They may just replace him with another centrist like Dowd, Friedman or Krugman.
