The Tigers' pitching coach thinks that Carl Pavano signed with the Yankees because he couldn't handle the pressure of being the ace of the Tigers' staff. (Hat tip: Jason Mastaitis).

Uh, okay. Works for me.

Nothing to do with the pathetic offseason the Tigers have had so far. Nothing to do with them being 4th in the, well, MEDIOCRE AL Central in 2004 and likely to be no better than that.

Hey, I'm an Indains fan. So take me for my word when I say mediocre.

Nah. This has more to do with his psyche of being an "ace" more than anything like contracts or careers of greed.....

Damn. Now I really think the Tribe REALLY did have a shot at getting Randy Johnson - hey, but too bad he didn't want to be our "ace".
