BASEBALL: Mets in the Central
Here's one thing I noticed in pulling together my NL Central report. If you're not keeping score at home, the list of former Mets presently employed in the NL Central includes the following:
Roger Cedeno
Jeromy Burnitz
Jason Isringhausen
Paul Wilson
Bill Pulsipher
John Franco
Glendon Rusch
Ty Wigginton
Matt Lawton
Jose Vizcaino
David Weathers
Ricky Bottalico
Rick White
Brady Clark
Mike Remlinger
Plus, the Astros had Turk Wendell in camp to go with Franco until he announced his retirement this week. I gotta say, a lot more bad than good memories on that list, even with the inclusion of Franco.
Wow! Mostly a bunch of nothingburgers.
I missed the announcement of Turk Wendell's retirement. I really loved that guy when he was a Met. Sorry to see him go.
By the way, I would be remiss if I didn't ask you if you're ready to throttle David Brooks.
This post has nothing to do with this but since the BYK thread has disappeared I thought I would put this here. The Sox traded him yesterday to...(wait for it) the Colorado Rockies. He might as well retire right now. Fat fastballs and flat sliders are one thing in the real world, in Colorado he might not get anyone out. Ouch. Guess he shouldn't have given the crowd the bird.
What an ugly, ugly list. Interesting that all of Generation K is there...
I was kind of wondering what you thought of Brooks' piece too.
Great player all of them were great players
