BASEBALL: Vinny No Go

Vinny Castilla, month by month:

May.245.327.339666
June.176.257.215472

Yup, after that hot start, Castilla has been worse than worthless. Another reason why my Hacking MASS team over at Baseball Prospectus has surged to #65 out of 1,859 teams. My roster:

PositionPlayer2005 ESPN
CatcherMike Matheny10
First BaseDarin Erstad19
Second BaseTony Womack71
Third BaseVinny Castilla25
ShortstopAlex Gonzalez22
Left FieldScott Podsednik23
Center FieldMarquis Grissom36
Right FieldJacque Jones8

Pitcher 2Russ Ortiz49

The interesting question is whether the Nationals will eventually bail out on Castilla. Naturally, the hot April has made it that much harder to do.

Saw Escobar is going to get arthroscopic surgery and is likely done for the season. Were you able to dump him already or are you just stuck with a 7 game season?

Sadly, no. My team has gone down the tubes.

Tony Womack? The 2nd worst offensive player with enough at bats to qualify for the batting title this year (after Guuuuz in DC of course.)
