Our Cuba policy has always been crazy. The embargo should never have lasted beyond 1965. It's not only cost us Cuban cigars (oh did my dad miss those), but we would have managed to sow so much more discontent if they could have seen what we had. As for those who said his control was too tight, it was like that in Eastern Europe and the Soviet Union.

China will fall, and be ready for the rule of law and democracy far better than Russia was. The right to vote comes last in a democracy, not first. Cuba could already have turned.
