BASEBALL: Perspective on the AL East Race
Lyford offers some.
They've won the East 8 years in a row. Why should we expect Boston to overtake them now with Boston's pitching woes?
Sheffield and Matsui go down, yes, but look at the rest of the parts that make the current whole. Not too shabby.
The Yanks will win the East. Probably by about 4-5 games in the end when all is said and done.
Yes, nothing like "perspective" from a Red Sox cult member. Puhlease! His main argument is attacking a strawman that he himself created. I have heard no Yankee fan refer to the Yankees as "plucky underdogs". What Yankee fans have said is that they can't believe that the Yankees are still this close after one third of their starting roster went down with injuries-all of whom were former or possible all stars. Crank, you might want to look at yours and others comments when the injuries happened. I bet "Mr. Perspective" had the Yankees dead and buried by the time Sheffield went down let alone Cano. Now his beloved Sawx are in for a fight so he has to distort reality to comfort himself. It is sort of like how lefty moonbats transform every bit of information into an anti Bush attack. BTW-do you ever notice that the same things that are said about the Yankees are basically identical to anti-US attacks-they are too rich. too powerful. too arrogant, blah, blah, blah, we are better then them because we are victims.
