POLITICS: The Amazing Steyn

I've been meaning to blog about Mark Steyn's book America Alone and the free speech issues raised by the attacks on the book, but in the meantime, this video of him speaking at CPAC, the big conservative conference in DC, is priceless. I had not heard Steyn speak before and didn't realize what an accent he has.

Mark Steyn filled in for Rush one day, over a year ago. He's not as quick to turn a phrase in an ad lib forum, but it's close. The accent adds that "been there, done that" tone when talking about Europe and the rest of the world. I think his writing form is outstanding blend of insightful commentary and devestatingly funny wit. It's the rare piece that doesn't have me rolling on the floor.

Paraphrasing here, but Martin Amis called Steyn a guy who says what everybody else thinks. Hearing a Broadway musical afficianado from Canada redmeating the Movement is always amusing.
