BASEBALL: Uneasy Lies The Head

All I gotta say on the last two nights' Mets-Phillies games is, maybe sometimes it is better not to have the early lead.

The one thing I'll say for the Mets is that they've had enough catastrophic bullpen collapses that they are no longer especially bothered by them. Blow a seven-run lead in late August to your primary divisional rival - no big deal, just go back to work the next day.

As I always tell my kids, baseball is a humbling game. But after blowing several games to the Phillies this year, and Yadier !#$%^ Molina, Jimmy Dugan was wrong. There IS crying in baseball.
