POLITICS: Just A Reminder
No outrage, but no surprise either - the Democrats don't care so much about campaign finance reform when they are raising and spending more money. "New politics." Comments
Oh boo hoo hoo. So let's see, Republicans have for years stopped virtually every attempt to rein in campaign fundraising, but now the system is corrupt because Obama is raising extraordinary amounts of money. Give me a break. Posted by: Democrat down the Hall at November 3, 2008 2:01 PMI, for one, have never argued that the presence of money in politics = corruption. Nor have most conservatives (you may recall how unpopular McCain's position on campaign finance reform is within the GOP). Our position has not changed: any and all kinds of fundraising are fine as long as there is full disclosure. It took Democrats until they were on the receiving end of the moronic Independent Counsel law to realize its flaws. If this permanently disables the move to overregulate money in politics, that would be a good thing (I don't expect it to, sadly). The point here is that they were hypocrites all along about this stuff, as those of us on the Right always knew. Posted by: Crank at November 3, 2008 2:11 PMJohn Stewart said it best., Crank. The liberal illuminati don't care about reform, everyone should know that, but they forgot somewhere. Just like they overspent on this election, they will do it with our taxes dollars, on nonsense at that.
