POLITICS: Palin Power

Unsurprising poll result of the year: Sarah Palin is more popular with Republican voters than John McCain. 71% of GOP voters say Palin was the right choice for VP, compared to 65% supporting McCain as the best choice for the Presidential nominee, 74% of Democrats who say Obama was the right choice, and 76% of Democrats who say Biden was the right choice. (It's perhaps unsurprising given the nature of primary battles that both parties' presidential candidates face more lingering doubters in the ranks).

It's rather amazing that only 74% of Democrats think Obama was the right choice, given that today is Election Day, and virtually everyone thinks he's going to win. Similarly, since McCain appears unlikely to do the single most important thing a nominee is supposed to do, which is win, 65% is actually pretty good.

Crank, I'd be interested in seeing numbers on how Independents view Palin. The percentage of voters self-identifying as GOP is shrinking. Being popular with the wing-nut base won't be nearly enough

She is the most popular because of her policies, and she had good ideas, but the power of Palin will not be strong enough to defeat the left-wing illuminati and the mainstream media in 2012.
