POLITICS: "People who love their country can change it!"

Just in case you were wondering whether the Obama campaign's "change" slogan means changing the government or changing's an actual SMS message received by one of my RedState colleagues today from the Obama campaign:

People who love their country can change it! Make sure everyone you know votes for Barack today.

Contrast John McCain:

My country has never had to prove anything to me, my friends...I've always had faith in it and I've been humbled and honored to serve it.

America remains, in Reagan's words, a country with a government, not the other way around. Let's hope it stays that way.

Wow, you really don't get it, do you.

Crank, I apologize for some of my critiques. I thought you were being cynical, but now I realize that . . .

Man, I can't even articulate it. But let me say, America is safe. The constitution is cool. We're fine.

Whether the Constitution would be safe in the hands of Obama depends on whether you think it would be safe in the hands of, say, William Douglas.

Read Articles I and II and explain to me how those weren't destroyed over the last 8 years.

And luckily, Hillary isn't following to continue the harm.

Reagan's cute little aphorisms conveyed a lack of analytical thought, a lazy grasping for the slogan. In fact, America is both a country and a government. Thank goodness we'll have a government that views the constitution as more than a suggestion.

Too bad he won't change the country, and what will people when their faith in the left-wing illuminati do once he lets them down?
