Liberal blog Donkeylicious has some useful background on Bonnie Newman, who is apparently being appointed to replace Judd Gregg, who is leaving the Senate to become Commerce Secretary. The post is funny because the last paragraph demonstrates the blogger's complete inability to process self-deprecating humor. Dude, when Trent Lott's wit sails over your head...

We have a Daschle down, we have a Daschle down...

And another one bites the dust, Nancy Killefer withdraws. Don't any wealthy dems pay their taxes?

Wild stuff, now lets get back to hiring lobbyists and ramp up renditions.

Great news about Daschle's withdrawal. That sleazy bastard would have screwed the healthcare program through massive giveaways to the insurance companies. Good riddance to bad trash.

Watch for the lightning strike.

I actually agree that Daschle needed to go. I think Obama goes too far in rejecting lobbyists (disclaimer -- I am registered, but don't "lobby" in the common use of the term) and the double standard for Daschle was insupportable.
