POLITICS: Great Moments in Presidential Oratory
"Welcome to Cinco de Cuatro".
Funny thing is the same people that call this clown an eloquent genius thought the last president was an idiot. Let's see the last guy was fluent in Spanish and the current guy (who said he was embarrassed because most of us don't speak French) can only speak English (and that is only if the teleprompter is operating properly). Amazing.
I don't know. I've never been one to get that excited about oratory gaffes. They will happen especially when one talks so much on a (inter)national stage.
But here is the thing. Can anyone deny that if Bush has said this that it would be the first story on The Daily Show, Olberman would rant about it, and heck, CNN would have a 5 minute special tying together "Cinco de Cuatro", the GOP's "anti-immigration" policy, and Bush's obvious cultural ignorance.
Obama says it and maybe a few papers mention it, but TV media will ignore it.
So, his gaffes don't bother me as much as the double standard that is applied to his gaffes and past Bush gaffes.
Exactly. Consistency and honesty-thats all I want from the media and liberals-redundant I know.
Maybe it's just me, but Obama messed up Spanish -- not his primary language, while W struggled with English. I guess this is the best you have, so run with it for all it's worth.
