This seems like either an overly generalized article or one that is particular to Washington D.C. As someone who doesn't have and won't be having children as well as someone who knows many other couples inclined the same way I don't have or even know of this level of combativeness regarding children. Seems like an attitude more specific to that city. I do think that the article over-generalizes so how valid its conclusions are I'm not certain.
