Kerry: When he says, “Bring it on,” he refers to President Bush, the RNC and Karl Rove.
Bush: When he said, “Bring it on,” he referred to terrorists seeking to disrupt the transformation of Iraq to a free, democratic state.
(Link via Note-It Posts). Of course, when Bush said, “Bring it on,” what was Kerry’s response?
“The President�s comment yesterday regarding the continued attacks on American troops in Iraq was unwise, unworthy of the office and his role as commander in chief, and unhelpful to American soldiers under fire. The deteriorating situation in Iraq requires less swagger and more thoughtfulness and statesmanship,” Kerry said in a statement.
Oh.
You actually appreciate the “Bring it on” comment?

Everything’s easier said here than there. It’s not like they were gonna stop if Bush started sounding like Jimmy Carter. Better to send the message that we’re not backing down.
I’d be really unhappy if a relative of mine were risking his or her life in Iraq and the President took a break from his gourmet dinners, and taunted terrorists by daring them to try and kill my relative. There’s a difference between sending the messge that were not backing down and risking lives by taunting terrorists. There’s also such a thing as showing that you value the lives of people that are in harm’s way. Sounding like a flippant cowboy doesn’t get it done.
Its not like they’re going to increase their attacks based upon his comments either.
Nonetheless, it was an assinine thing for Bush to say.
There are much more Presidential ways of saying that we will be undeterred. And he IS the President.
You’re the most powerful man in the world and you’re using that power…don’t act like a teenage punk.
