  1. It really is amazing. Even the United States — at least under Bush and Cheney — adopted torture techniques from the Nazis and the Soviets using the “newspeak” to call torture “enhanced interrogation techniques.”

  2. Waterboarding has been used against thousands upon thousands of US soldiers for training purposes- you know that…. so why do you lie again? Did they get slapped a little bit- heavens to betsy, pushed against a wall that has give-horror!!!! Deprived of sleep and loud noises played around them-my god what torture!!!!
BTW-since the position of Vice presidents only powers are to preside over the Senate and vote in tiebreakers-all the executive power is in the President–the cabinet secretarys answer directly to the President-maybe you should just stop with all the Cheney stuff-it is sort of stupid

  3. Magrooder,
I’m assuming that you are just trying to get a rise out of people, otherwise that’s one of the dumbest posts yet. I say “one of the dumbest” because I keep finding new lows on here.

  4. “since the position of Vice presidents only powers are to preside over the Senate and vote in tiebreakers”
    dch,
It would have been nice of you to point this out to to the guy who was US VP from 2001-2009.
    Because speaking of stupid:
Cheney’s office argued that the Vice President’s office has both executive and legislative branch duties.

  5. dch,
Would you agree then that Scooter Libby should have been waterboarded to find out what he knew about the public outing of a CIA agent? Or are you afraid that would have hurt the poor dear’s feelings?

  6. What makes it worse is that Crank’s post does not make an overt, political statement of any kind. How is it remotely controversial to say that the Soviets committed atrocities and that many current problems can be traced to the Soviets and Nazi’s?

Agreed MVH. And I don’t see the controversy in magrooder explicitly drawing that line to the current problems referred to by Crank.

  8. “And I don’t see the controversy in magrooder explicitly drawing that line to the current problems referred to by Crank.”
    Somehow, I’m not surprised.

  9. MVH,
Well it’s good to know that you don’t always approve of atrocities committed by governments.
No wonder God loves our species best.

  10. You know berto when you didn’t post here for a few weeks around the holidays, I was figuring/hoping that you had been released to your families care. Maybe someone had arranged a visting home aide or social worker to check in on you 2 -3 times a week, that maybe you could start using utensils other than spoon. I really was rooting for you.

  11. “You know berto”

Yes I do, dch. You’re a big man for finally admitting it.
    Thanks.
