Yankee fans probably shouldn’t spit on Cliff Lee’s wife if they want to sign him in the offseason (for fun, if you know a Hated Yankees fan and a Phillies phan, goad them into wagering on who will sign Lee. Both groups of fans have clearly already penciled him into their 2011 rotations). Of course, Lee could just sign with the Mets; everybody spits on the Mets.
Which gives me all the excuse I need to link to this.

I personally think the Lee family should go to Colorado. I hear they have one terrific school system.

Thanks for going and making think of the $12+ million the Mets are spending on Ollie P. that could instead be going towards Lee.
I’d love to see Lee back on the Fightin’s, but I just don’t see it happening. Even if they have the money, I think Amaro would balk at the length of contract Lee would like.
I hope he gets a ring this year though.
And don’t worry, Lee WILL eventually sign with the Mets, but not until he’s 42, and coming off of shoulder surgery. That’s when he’ll get a five year deal.
