POLITICS: Coincidentally....

New politics.

Just got home from watching Frost/Nixon. Blago is an idiot and may even be a crimiinal, but this is a stampede to public relations justice that bears only the apparent form of due process, not its substance.

What stampede? Its being ignored by the media
like everything negative about President elect Empty Suit for the last 2 years. I will say it again- if the media was just biased towards the Dems just 70% of the time the Dems would never be in power.

Well now Barry has to govern and the moment he and the liberal congress starts pushing the lefty agenda the bloom starts to come off the rose.

Despite a 200 million dollar spending advantage, media pimping 24/7/365, the media attacking a Republican president 24/7 for 8 years, the historical trends against a party winning the presidency 3 times in a row and a few million conservatives sitting the election out it took a financial panic 6 weeks before the election for this guy to win 3% of the vote than Kerry-I am not that down on our chances to pick up a lot of House seats in 2010 and retake the Presidency in less than 46 months.

Dems enjoy your day in the sun-it basically always go down from here no matter who is in power.

We'll get you a tissue so you can wipe away the tears of sadness caused by how downtrodden you are in this unfair system. Boo hoo, let it all out.

Welcome to your worst nightmare, boys -- An America based on laws and a society that protects those who need help

Have no idea what you are talking about. Not sad at all-there is a season for all things. The seeds of victory are always present in the aftermath of defeat and vice-versa. Made it through Carter and Clinton, will make it through Obama and the next 4 to 6 Dem presidents that wil come over the rest of my life. Got Carter in 1976-4 years later Reagan and a Republican Senate. Got Clinton-2 years later a Republican House and Senate-8 years later a Republican President. Optimistic going forward. If Obama could only win 53% of the vote with all the factors in his favor, what's going to happen when f those factors are not present in 4 years.

Posted by: dch at January 20, 2009 12:25 PM

Boo hoo-the media.
Boo hoo-the fund raising.

Where I come from, that's whining.

Posted by: jim at January 20, 2009 12:31 PM

Magrooder - Um, no.

Posted by: Crank at January 20, 2009 12:31 PM

Obama got 67.8% of the electoral college vote which is how we elect presidents. That's a landslide. You could say Reagan "only" got 58% of the vote in 1984 in the greatest butt-kicking ever (97.6% of electoral votes) when he had, likely, the greatest set of inherent advantages going for him.

BTW-North Korea is now stating that they are on war footing with South Korea and Russia is mouthing off about US involvement in Ukraine and Georgia-I thought everyone was going to like us now? The war mongering Bush regime is gone after all. Good thing he has Hillary as Sec of State, after all she only has Obama's best interests, right? And I am sure all the numerous relationships that the article Crank linked to and the various investigations will just turn out to be nothing, right? If Gitmo isn't closed today and the 200 detainees not immediately sent to US territory-. It would just take 1 plane and a 45 minute trip to MIami-doesn't that mean under loony left logic Obama is a war criminal? I think some southern town should immediately start indictment hearings-oh wait that would just be idiotic and juvenille.

Quite the pity party going on. Wow.

Posted by: jim at January 20, 2009 1:04 PM

He's President, not Pope.

It seems to me that reversing an executive order that banned U.S. money from funding international family planning groups that promote abortion or provide information, counseling or referrals about abortion services protects those in poorer countries who need protective medical services.

Keep trying though.

This "pity party" angle is interesting. For 8 years, we've heard nothing but whining and pity parties from the left. No real suggestions of policy. No gratitude for the good things that have happened. Just complain, complain, complain, Bush is dumb, whine, whine, whine.

And Frost/Nixon was a joke. Talk about revisionist history.

Posted by: per14 at January 20, 2009 5:06 PM

per14, Frost/Nixon is an OK movie; Langella does an amazing acting job in conveying Nixon's basic weirdness, incapacity for real human relationships and loneliness.

But, revisionist history? We never secretly bombed Cambodia? There was no break-in at the DNC? Nixon did not activley participate in the cover-up? Where, exactly, is the revisionism?
