POLITICS: "I have nothing against white male construction workers," but....

H/T (I prefer a little less commentary on videos like this, but the transcriptions are useful).

Not that he's calling for repealing the Jim Crow era Davis-Bacon Act, either. You know, there's sort of an economic case for the government trying to do infrastructure investments counter-cyclically (i.e., spend more building roads and the like during periods of recession), when labor and materials are cheaper...but that case goes out the window when you have a statutory mandate like Davis-Bacon that precludes the federal government from taking advantage of a weak labor market to save taxpayer dollars.

Per Rasmussen-since January 4th-President Empty Suit, who has received nothing but fawning reviews and puff pieces from the media and has not been attacked by anyone-went from +41% approval rating to +23% and is now 60-37. According to the same poll 59% of the American people are worried about out of control spending by Obama and a Democratic Congress.

These are the poll numbers right now with 7.2 % unemployment and in the first week of his administration-what are the numbers going to look like with say a 9 or 10% unemployment rate and 2 trillion dollare annual deficit?

No problem, they will stop taking the polls and publishing any results!

Or they will change to the poll questions to something like "How nice are Obama's suits?" or "Does he still look as good as he did on Inaguration Day?" then publish the poll results just as if the questions were not changed.

The last three words of your post are puzzling. The government should try to "save taxpayer dollars"? What a remarkable idea!

And the picture of Rep. Rangel...Isn't he one of the taxpayers who believes in saving his own money?
