Right on time with the contrived, petty critiques a half hour into the administration. Way to butcher the oath Roberts, giving wingnuts fodder to claim he's not technically president. Smiling big smiles today.

I don't think Crank is trying to be petty here. You have to admit, that was one weird and akward oath. But, yes, tomorrow it doesn't matter.

Nerves. Obama was a little slow repeating the first part, that through Roberts off who then fumbled the second part which caused Obama to be a little off. Understandable.

I agree that it was just nerves. Of course if this was Bush, the liberals would be saying it was because he is so dumb!

Y'know when Bush took office most people didn't really think twice about it. At that time I didn't think that there was that great a difference between Gore and Bush. If he had gotten tripped up at the inauguration like this I doubt anyone, at the time, would have thought a thing about it.

They got a mulligan today, as I'm sure you've seen or heard by now.

Some of the jokes going around about the Mulligan Oath & Joe The Biden’s joke. (Aside: This sorta illustrates the kinda situation for which the principle of "substantial compliance" is the all-purpose cure-all; or the legal maxim: de minimis non curat lex.)

Perhaps Obama should search for a way to get born again in order to convince everyone that he has a bona fide US birth certificate. Just sayin' can't be too cautious. Rick Warren will officiate.

Biden is God's answer to our Dan Quale prayers.

Biden did better with his oath than Obama did. But Biden has more practice repeating others' words.

I thought it was supposed to be Inauguration Day, not Groundhog Day.

Obama, the strict constructionist.

Oh, well, at least they didn't add any you knows to the prescribed wording.

They couldn’t find a Bible in the White House, the outgoing Bush administration took all of them. Not that anyone in the Obama administration noticed.

Wow. That's interesting. I guess when it really counts, one can dispense with the Christian faith. But there’s no reason to believe he took it seriously when the Bible was there, so probably no reason to think he took it any less seriously without a Bible.

Funny how the alleged moron, George W. Bush, got it right the first time. Of course he had practice, having joined the military.

Let’s just hope the inevitable tax increases don't get done twice.

So this is how lawyers increase billable hours, by making a mountain out of a molehill.

I am relieved that Obama took the oath again. Otherwise, people would be commenting about it incessantly.
