Honestly, I wouldn’t bet on it. Schundler’s problem is that he not only has to fight the Democrats (most likely Corzine and his money), he’s at odds with most of the big shots in the Republican party, too. AND he annoyed some of his conservative supporters last year by not helping out their Rep. primary challenges in the state legislative elections (although I doubt it would have helped much if he did). I guess he’s the favorite to win the primary if there’s a lot of candidates, but he’ll probably have some of the same problems he did last time in the general election – especially the Dems. demonizing him on abortion and gun control (which maybe shouldn’t matter, but probably will.)
