High Risk

OK, I’m just listening on the radio here, but Mike Piazza – who just entered the game as a pinch hitter in the 9th inning – just ran the risk of getting thrown out going first to third on a single with two outs in the bottom of the ninth. On Raul Mondesi’s arm, no less. Gulp.
UPDATE: So, Cliff Floyd pops out to lose the game. Grrr.

  1. Rarely do you see a baserunner pick up the third base coach anymore. Especially on a ball to right field. I curse every time someone turns their head when touching second.

  2. Looking for any baseball bloggers? I am the writer for http://www.hotsaucesports.com and am starting to generate traffic for the site. I would like to get more exposure. I would be great for this blog because my topics are original and I tell it like it is in a clean manner. Check out my work and if there is any interest write back.

  3. Why did you stop writing the baseball columns? Your comparisons of Morris, Kaat, Blyleven and John were great!

  4. Ah, Mondesi’s arm is shot. I suppose if he’s charging right at the infield and has a chance to set, he might have a shot, but otherwise he’s nothing special. And Kolb sucks so much there was a good chance (if Cox had left him in) that he’d throw a wild pitch. He’s already thrown two this season. I hate Dan Kolb.
