The Truth Leaks Out

Not that I think college transcripts tell you a whole lot about a presidential candidate, but it’s emblematic of the way the media let John Kerry get away with hiding things a Republican would have been pilloried for that we’re only now discovering that his college grades at Yale were just as bad as Bush’s, despite the incessant claims of Kerry’s supporters that he was a much smarter, more complex and nuanced thinker. We did also get Kerry’s tax returns very, very late in the game. The rest of his military and medical records are still, ahem, AWOL, although this Globe article does hint that they may be available.
UPDATE: Jay Tea notes that the military records are now available, but only to the Boston Globe. The Globe says there’s nothing to see, and that may be the case, but until the records are more widely available, it’s wait-and-see.

  1. Do you think George Bush used honorable methods to get into the TANG? Do you think his service was honorable? Did he live up to the oath he took when he entered TANG? Has he told the whole truth about his military service?

  2. Coolschool,
Nice attempt to change the story. The point I believe Crank was making was that the leftist media falls all over themselves proclaiming every Dem candidate smarter than their Republican opponent (Even Gore who failed divinity school???). It is transparent to most people that what is happening is reporters hear someone spouting the liberal bs they believe so they decide that person is smart.
However, to answer your innane questions, yes to all of them. There is nothing dishonorable about serving in the reserves. Where you are beeing misled about the reserves is enlisted slots which were full. However, there was a shortage of people who could qualify to fly fighter jets.

  3. 1. For an example of different treatment, recall how the California media pulverized Bill Simon for not releasing his tax returns, or how the Illinois media went to court to get Jack Ryan’s divorce records.
    2. I believe if you search my archives for AWOL Bush or TANG or Bush National Guard you will have no difficulty finding my answers to those questions at great length, which I will not revisit at this point.

  4. Is that the same Boston Globe that couldn’t tell the difference between a hazing and a porn flick a while back?
CoolSchool, who did you vote for in ’92? ’96?
