Is There Anything This Guy Can’t Do?

Yes, of course, David Wright has a blog.
Granted, it’s extremely difficult for an insider, especially a young player, to say anything interesting on a blog – Curt Schilling could pull it off, maybe. But I’ll have to check in and see if Wright manages to transcend cliches at some point.

  1. Crank-
I’m gonna have to stick with young David’s exploits on the field, and the leave the blog to his growing legion of giggling girls.
Oh, to be 23, living in NY, and the best player on a contending team.

  2. He is very reminiscent of Derek Jeter. Smart in the normal sense, very smart in the baseball sense. Athletic, respeectful; listens to veterans and remembers what they say.
I get the feeling than Jeter, and only time can tell if he can seize the moment the same way.
We are wowed by how good he is at 23, and that is fair. It makes it even more remarkable that Ted was able to bat .406 at the same age.

  3. Somehow, a phrase got lost: I get the feeling that “Wright is a better hitter” than Jeter, somehow got lost. Sorry.
