If you flipped a coin enough times, eventually Darren Oliver would strike out the side.
UPDATE: And to top that, Oliver hits a 2-out single with the bases loaded. All I can say is, with things breaking as well as they have for the Mets, let’s see this continue through next Wednesday, when they wrap up their first series against the Braves.

The line-up’s filled with tough outs right now, and the boys are smacking the XBHs with a vengeance.
Beating up the weak teams: a prescription for a division title/pennant for over a century.
The Braves’ll be the first big test for the pitchers, though.
The LetsGos are getting it done. Don’t get too excited though. The Nats stink. DC is appalled that Pedro didn’t eat dirt yesterday. Robbie should have called somebody up for just that purpose if he didn’t want to risk suspension for a regular. W/ the ongoing ownership saga, the bloom officially off the rose in season 2 at the dump that is RFK, and lingering bad taste from Soriano’s “I won’t play left and if I do I’m leaving ASAP” shenanigans all signs point to a dreary summer of baseball in the nation’s capital.
As much as I sort of wanted to see Pedro plunk Guillen again because a) it would have been very funny to see b) Pedro is such a bad ass but plays the role of “Who, Me?” so well c) watching Frank go psycho while Guillen was axe-murderously mad all would have been great. I think Frank will serve his revenge up cold sometime in the summer. There is no way he will let this one go unchallenged.
Do you realize the Mets pitching staff is slugging over .500 ? Obviously not many at bats, but that has to be very rare even in small sample sizes. Especially since they haven’t hit any home runs. The pitchers are 7 for 17 with two doubles.
