  1. It’s also worth pointing out that according to Gallup that opposition to 2nd and 3rd trimester abortions is something like 60 and 80 percent respectively. This has consistently been the case and it’s why you never see polling data when the MSM reports on abortion.

  2. The ‘problem’ is the way the pro-abortion folks have framed the debate. I read something a while back in NR where the writer basically said pro-Roe folks made an enormous mistake by using rape, incest and health of the mother as justifiers rather than sticking to abortion as a ‘right’.
IMO they’ve been making the same mistake by arguing in favor of 3rd trimester abortion and against parental consent laws. Late term abortion just won’t play with the public and neither will abortion for children without parental consent. Its just a dumb argument that’ll never fly with the public at large.
I’d even argue they’d be better off if they lost the late term abortion and parental consent arguments. Taking those off the table would focus the debate back on whether or not women have a ‘fundamental right’ to abortion which would be much more favorable ground in public opinion for pro-abortion folks.

  3. I believe that a woman has the fundamental right to choose…to keep her knees together. This arguement goes back to the real problem in our society, lack of personal responsibility. Birth control is readily available in this country, even free in many cases. There is no excuse for bringing an unwanted child into this world, but abortion is not the remedy, personal responsibility is. If you do not want a child you have choices, but those choices should be made before a woman becomes pregnant. Yes, there are cases, such as rape and a woman’s health, which should be dealt with on an individual basis, but they are a very small fraction of the abortions taking place. We have to stop killing our kids. After all, they are our future.
