.349

Yes, that’s Jose Reyes’ OBP after today’s game. And David Wright now has 60 RBI before the end of June (MVP! MVP!) And .346 is Julio Franco’s batting average. Young and old.
No, I don’t have another point. Do I need one?

  1. El Rapido & The Prince Of New York were co-players of the week. They look on pace to actually repeat the feat. In fact, with stupendous numbers this month, they may be co-players of the month for June. Look at these numbers thru the first 22 days of the month:
    Wright: 378/433/756; 9 HR; 18 R; 25 (!) RBI
    Reyes: 392/455/671; 23 R; 10 2B; 3 3B; 12 SB
It’s really a wash. But man-oh-man, are we set on the left side.

  2. And after Sunday’s game in which Reyes went 4 for 5, his BA is up to .302! Somebody better be checking Jose’s water bottle.
Weird week coming up. Yankee fans will be rooting for the Mets Tue, Wed & Thur as they play the Red Sox and Met fans will be rooting for the Yanks to trample the Braves Mon, Tue, Wed. Then the Earth straightens out Friday, Sat & Sun when the Mets take on the Yanks.
    Let’s Go Mets!!
