Actually, Bruno Kirby was a cut above the usual “that guy”. I was actually surprised that his role as the young Clemenza in Godfather II didn’t rate a more prominent entry in his obit, given the series’ iconic stature, but he had so many memorable roles. RIP.

That’s interesting: I said much the same thing re the Clemenza angle in my post on Kirby this morning. I guess for guys of our generation, that’s much more compelling than playing Billy Crystal’s friend in City Slickers or When Harry Met Sally.
Even weirder though: I also referred to him as a “That Guy.” Man, the shadow that your H.C. writing buddy casts grows longer by the day, huh?
Another coincidence: playing the son of Richrd Castellano, since they both played Clemenza.
