Francisco Liriano came out of his return start today after just 28 pitches and 2 scoreless innings, escorted by the trainer. Not sure what’s up but the news can’t be good.

That’s a shame. I’m pulling for the Tigers and a Verlander ROY, but no one wanted to see that.
The Twins gambled and lost. Liriano should have never come back this season. Now, not only do they not have him for the rest of this season, but also at least a significant part of next season too.
I have thought for quite some time that Verlander should be ROY. Liriano has had a good season, but Verlander has been there all year and is a big reason why the Tigers still have a chance to make the playoffs.
BTW, my my prediction is that the Tigers will not only not win the Central, but not make the wild card either.
