I’m way, way too busy to blog right now, so I will just say this: this morning’s rush hour we had Bilblical floods, and for the evening rush hour we get fire and brimstone. I hope someone isn’t trying to tell us something.

The flood was something, but I guess other regions get it, so why not us. I also understand that train service gets screwed up–nature will top us every time–but there is not excuse for the LIRR’s phone line to be ninety minutes behind the time of radio news on when service is back. Or why they lie about if and when they are (not) arranging bus service.
I contrast this with the NYC website, which, along with the Bloomberg innovation of 311, was concise, to the point and very informative. By this time in Giuliani’s mayoralty, we were getting very sick of him; few can say that of Mayor Mike. Doesn’t mean he would make a good president. But a terrific Chief of Staff.
