Pedro Feliciano, who has been with the team (albeit with interruptions) since 2002. Three other Mets were on the team in 2003: Tom Glavine, who was the Opening Day starter, and Jose Reyes and Aaron Heilman, both of whom debuted in June.
Didn’t think of Feliciano; I thought it was Glavine.
Last year, it was Trachsell. Ugh.
Could only come up with Glavine, though thought that there was probably someone with a longer tenure in the pen.
Glavine’s status as *almost* the longest-tenured Met is really, really, really (really) disturbing. He’s clearly been (contrary to expectations) a good signing, but — unless the Mets win the world series with him on their staff — he will always be a Brave to me.
A bit OT, but one of these two has got to be the saddest thing I have ever seen in a box score:
A) “Rangers 30, Orioles 3 (Game 1)”
B) “Bell pitched to seven batters in the 8th”
That must have been a fun clubhouse between games.
Glavine, right?
That’s news to me. Thanks I ususally don’t follow the Mets. Very informative.
