  1. I have no issue with the Manny being Manny thing. He is. However, people don’t know that he is a pretty sharp and astute guy and that he works super-hard on his training and his hitting. You don’t fall out of bed and hit 600 HRs and drive in 1,700 runs (and no one thinks he has done PEDs largely because they think it would be Manny being Manny and he would forget to take them or some such thing) without figuring out a thing or two. I’ve said it many times before here, “You show me your left-fielder. I’ll take Manny.”

  2. The photo is even more appropriate in that Manny was 3 for 5 that day, drove in three runs, and scored two.
