I would echo every word Ed Morrissey writes in this post. I take some pleasure in Dean’s success since I was one of the early people to link to him at SoxBlog before he hit it big and ended uo at The Weekly Standard (and, sadly, left the baseball part of his blogging days behind). He really is one of the good and decent guys on the web.

Dan, I think I came to your site through Dean’s old Soxblog site. Although it was sad to see him leave the baseball (and other sports on occassion) behind, it was great getting more political commentary from him once he moved on to Hugh Hewitt’s site and then to the Weekly Standard gig. I hope all is well with him. He is truly a tremendous writer and I hope to continue reading him for years to come.
Horrible disease, and hopefully he can pull through this.
