I’m pretty much in agreement with all of Karl Rove’s thoughts on rebuilding the GOP, and in fact a fair amount of it overlaps with my Obama Administration Survival Guide. Obviously, Rove’s list isn’t comprehensive, but it’s a start.

It’s interesting that Rove suggests the importance of Republicans backing comprehensive immigration reform as a way of attracting the Hispanic vote. Try getting that past the base. I happen to believe that he’s right but that’s going to require a LOT of finesse and persuasion. The guy’s smart, I’ll give him that.
Crank,
You already failed on the mindless opposition one.
Rove seems to assume there is unity among republicans. That alone will take at least 2 years to establish.
My question is this: are republicans more interested in regaining elected positions or the proper governing of the country.
If it’s winning elections, then oppose Obama at every turn. If it’s governing the country, then create a long range plan that shows a depth of thought and sacrifice an election cycle or two.
