Johnny Still B Goode

There really is no possible objective way to measure the greatest rock n’ roll song of all time, but pretty high on any list would be whether a song was so essential that just about everybody who’s ever picked up a guitar had to try their hand at it. I say you can’t go wrong with the original, primordial, classic rock standard that’s one of the very few songs of the 1950s that sounds as fresh today as it did five decades ago (warning, the volume of these is variable):

  1. It gets my vote! Every rocker worth his salt has given us his version this song. Some even try the duck walk with it-if they have the nerve!
BTW-The last video with George Harrison, from what concert was that? I see my favorite band -the Moody Blues-taking part in this finale.

  2. Not unexpectedly, I’d have to award the battle of the bands to Jimi Hendrix.

  3. Without even listening to these clips, I can tell you that the definitive version is by Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush, from their live album.
I would listen to them, but the computer I’m on at work has very low sound.
