  1. I admire Olson and personally wish him well, but he�s on the wrong side of this case, in my view.
    As I�ve written here a few times, the government should not be able to indefinitely detain U.S. citizens without regard to the Bill of Rights, even during times of war. This is much different than the guys at Guantanamo. Padilla certainly shouldn�t be released, but should be remanded to the criminal justice system to face prosecution.

  2. I have absolutely no admiration for Ted Olson as SG or in his previous incarnations. I wish him well in the personal struggles he surely endures from losing his wife, but not on this case. I’m with the Hibernian, the gov’t is clearly wrong in Padilla’s case, but I would add that the Gitmo case is debatable as well.
