The most amazing number about Jimmy Rollins’ 31-game hitting streak entering tonight’s game – which apparently ties the club record set by Ed Delahanty – is that he has hit 17 doubles in 31 games.

Crank, where do you stand on the hitting streak if it should run into next season?
Traditionally, streaks count if they run over, although the record books do keep separate lists for one-season streaks. Seems only fair to do so.
The amazing thing is that Rollins has done this facing all types of pitchers and has led off two recent games with homers. Alas, it’s a little consolation if the Phils don’t win the Wild Card.
