The Goose belongs big time, I don’t think Jim Rice does, but if he makes it (and reporters still see the same tired numbers without understanding them), he won’t be among the worst players there, so fine and dandy. Tim Raines made one little (OK, one big) mistake. But he was a terrific player, and I think he belongs. I can see though, if he gets in, then there will be a lot of, then Andre Dawson too thinking, and he doesn’t belong. I can make bigger cases for Mattingly and Hernandez than Rice though. But we’ve discussed that here before.
